Hurricane Unison Tabletop Exercise

Exercise Overview

During Hurricane Unison the agencies, organizations and churches which comprise the membership of the Big Bend Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) worked as a team to establish a cohesive disaster response network in which timely and coordinated assistance were provided to individuals and families requiring help due to the storm.

Exercise Scenario

A large, slow moving, but weak category two hurricane made landfall in the eastern portion of Franklin County at 6:33PM. After making landfall the storm tracked towards the northeast leaving disrupted lives, broken homes, damaged neighborhoods and tattered communities throughout Florida’s Big Bend Region.

Exercise Conclusion

The Hurricane Unison Tabletop Exercise was held on the morning of May 28 2009 at Faith Presbyterian Church in Tallahassee Florida.
