Disaster  Recovery Tabletop Exercise The Disaster Resistant Communities Group (DRCG) is uniquely qualified to assist communities in assessing their disaster recovery capabilities. DRCG has designed, facilitated and evaluated numerous disaster recovery exercises for city, county and regional agencies and organizations.

On-Line eXercise (ONX) System

Designed to make tabletop exercises easier and extremely affordable to develop, facilitate and evaluate the internet based ONX System provides a disaster exercise platform that meets and exceeds today's business continuity exercise needs.

The ONX System provides for:

  • Remote participation from anywhere there is internet connectivity.
  • Unlimited number of exercise participants in a single exercise.
  • Capability to embed an unlimited number of videos, images and other important documents.
  • Ability to export HSEEP compliant After Action Report / Improvement Plans.
  • Ability to export the responses to all of the inject questions submitted by participants.

Disaster Recovery Tabletop Exercise

Wakulla County's Emergency Management Department undertook an initiative to assess the ability of the county to recover from a powerful hurricane making landfall along the county's shoreline. Entitled "Hurricane Faith" the exercise had various members of the County Emergency Response Team working through the challenges of recovering from such a disaster.

From assessing and managing local resources to establishing and maintaining long-term sheltering, city and county along with community and faith based organizations had their hands full bringing Wakulla County back to life.

Hurricane Unison - A Human Services Tabletop Exercise

The successful storm recovery tabletop exercise entitled Hurricane Unison - A Human Services Tabletop Exercise facilitated in May 2009 for the Leon County Emergency Management Department had 82 participants working together to strengthen the county's hurricane recovery capabilities. Representing 47 individual community and faith based organizations, exercise participants had the opportunity to work in unison as a single community recovery team alongside their local government counterparts.Disaster  Recovery Tabletop Exercise

Following the Department of Homeland Security's HSEEP guidelines, DRCG developed specific Exercise Evaluation Guides designed to assess the capacity and capability of community and faith based organizations as they partnered with local government agencies to meet community needs.

As a participant from Epiphany Lutheran Church stated during the exercise hotwash:

"This was a great networking opportunity to get to know other organizations and what they have to offer regarding services, talents and resources."

Hurricane Resurgence - A Storm Recovery Tabletop Exercise

Another highly successful disaster recovery exercise was Hurricane Resurgence - A Storm Recovery Tabletop Exercise. With 42 individuals representing 26 different community and faith based organizations and government agencies, participants were presented with a wide range of injects dealing with subjects such as:
